September in Vicopisano

A month packed with events that blend history, music, art, traditions, nature, culture, readings and activities for children, from the historic centre of Vicopisano to the neighbouring hamlets.

It begins with the Medieval Festival (5–6) and concludes with the ‘Le parole contano’ festival (21–28). Mid-month in Lugnano, the Palio dei Ciu’i (Donkeys) is a highlight. On the second Sunday, the Collectors’, Antiques and Hobbyists’ Market takes place in Vicopisano, and on the third Sunday, the Lugnano in Soffitta market.

In Pertini Park in Uliveto Terme, the Brunelleschi Prize takes place in the middle of the month and the Arno Festival at the end of the month.

Rocca del Brunelleschi, Torre del Soccorso and its walkway will be open at the weekend, with guided tours also available.
