Centro storico Pisa, centro, piazze e luoghi limitrofi, Pisa

On Friday 12 June from 2.00 pm to 6.00 pm and Saturday 13 June from 10.00 am to 6.00 pm, the Antiche Navi Centro Studi will be open to the public. This centre was established following the redevelopment of the ‘Cantiere delle Navi Antiche’ in Pisa, the site near Pisa San Rossore railway station which, since 1998, has brought to light Roman-era vessels. The area welcomes scholars and visitors to a garden that recreates on the surface the ships discovered deep underground. On this occasion, visitors can view the exhibition of finds from local excavations free of charge and enter the storeroom where archaeological artefacts normally inaccessible to the public are kept.

On Sunday 14 June at 10.00 am, a guided tour of Alessandro Manetti’s Botte, an extraordinary hydraulic structure located in Fornacette along the Imperial Canal cycle path.
