It is characterised by its considerable size, by being made of leather and by being displayed in a bottale.<\/p>\n<p>The drum was displayed in Piazza San Pietro during the International Exhibition 100 Presepi in Vaticano (100 Nativity Scenes in the Vatican) at Bernini&#8217;s left colonnade. For the occasion, the hut became a large wooden drum (3.5 metres in diameter and 3.5 metres long), inside which are the nativity characters made of genuine vegetable-tanned leather.
