Not far away is the demonstration wellhead: drilled in 1956, the well is 740 metres deep, has a diameter of 9\u215d inches, and a flow rate of 15 tonnes. <br><br>The demonstration vent is open all year round and on Thursdays in summer: The Museum offers a guided tour every day (except Mondays) through the building\u2019s galleries, as well as the model room and the indoor lagoon. Every Thursday in July and August at 4.00 pm: \u2018Geothermal Thursdays\u2019 \u2013 a guided tour of the Museum, a hike to the Sasso Pisano Fumaroles Park and a tasting session.<br><br><br>A multimedia museum: The exhibition tells the story of geothermal energy, illustrating exploration and drilling techniques through models. A multimedia museum particularly well-suited to understanding the geothermal phenomenon and its industrial developments.<br><br>The tour takes visitors through ten rooms illustrating the origins of geothermal energy, from the establishment of the first chemical factory, through experimentation with energy production\u2014first mechanical, then thermal and electrical\u2014right up to modern power stations.
