Self-guided visits are free of charge.<br \/>For groups of more than 10 people, booking is required for both self-guided and guided tours. All other services can be found at visitgeotermia.com (available only for groups by booking at least one week in advance).<\/p>\n<h2>A multimedia museum<\/h2>\n<p>The exhibition tells the story of geothermal energy, illustrating exploration and drilling techniques through models. A multimedia museum particularly well-suited to understanding the geothermal phenomenon and its industrial developments.<\/p>\n<p>The tour takes visitors through ten rooms illustrating the origins of geothermal energy, from the establishment of the first chemical factory, through experimentation with energy production \u2013 first mechanical, then thermal and electrical \u2013 right up to modern power stations.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Geothemal Thursdays from 6 August to 17 September, 4:00 pm<\/h2>\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Start in Larderello, where it all began: the Geothermal Museum tells two centuries of history, from the boric acid lagoons to the first geothermal power plant ever built. Then you step outside, and the demonstration soffione takes over \u2014 steam roars out of the ground, and no explanation is needed.<\/p>\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Next stop, Sasso Pisano and the fumarole trail: mud bubbling at boiling point, steam escaping through cracks in the rock, ground stained yellow and red. A landscape that looks newly made.You finish at Vapori di Birra, the world&#8217;s first brewery powered by geothermal steam, with a small tasting.
