{"id":9443,"date":"2019-06-13T20:50:34","date_gmt":"2019-06-13T18:50:34","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.terredipisa.it\/?post_type=attrazione&#038;p=9443"},"modified":"2023-11-23T11:25:02","modified_gmt":"2023-11-23T10:25:02","slug":"museum-of-cathedral-works","status":"publish","type":"attrazione","link":"https:\/\/www.terredipisa.it\/en\/attrazione\/museum-of-cathedral-works\/","title":{"rendered":"Pisa | Miracles Square &#8211; Opera Duomo Museum"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><strong>The museum collects and preserves masterpieces and memories from the monuments of the Piazza del Duomo<\/strong>, works from time to time replaced with other more &#8220;current&#8221; or copies.<\/p>\n<h2>Masterpieces from the Middle Ages to the Renaissance<\/h2>\n<p>They are an expression of the magnificence of Pisa starting from the 12th century: in the powerful and rich Maritime Republic of that period, different artistic cultures met, from the transalpine to the Islamic ones. <strong>Nicola Pisano<\/strong> started up a new season of experimentation in <strong>sculpture<\/strong> that had in itself all the seeds that would germinate in the great art of the Renaissance.<\/p>\n<hr \/>\n<h2>The new face of the restored museum<\/h2>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignleft wp-image-13381\" src=\"https:\/\/www.terredipisa.it\/wp-content\/uploads\/2019\/10\/museo-opera-duomo-pisa-sculture-1024x683.jpeg\" alt=\"museo opera duomo pisa sculture\" width=\"505\" height=\"337\" srcset=\"https:\/\/www.terredipisa.it\/wp-content\/uploads\/2019\/10\/museo-opera-duomo-pisa-sculture-1024x683.jpeg 1024w, https:\/\/www.terredipisa.it\/wp-content\/uploads\/2019\/10\/museo-opera-duomo-pisa-sculture-300x200.jpeg 300w, https:\/\/www.terredipisa.it\/wp-content\/uploads\/2019\/10\/museo-opera-duomo-pisa-sculture-768x512.jpeg 768w, https:\/\/www.terredipisa.it\/wp-content\/uploads\/2019\/10\/museo-opera-duomo-pisa-sculture-320x213.jpeg 320w, https:\/\/www.terredipisa.it\/wp-content\/uploads\/2019\/10\/museo-opera-duomo-pisa-sculture-624x416.jpeg 624w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 505px) 100vw, 505px\" \/><\/p>\n<p>The museum, reopened to the public in 2019 after a long restoration. has been enriched with new restored works: it spreads over <strong>3000 square meters<\/strong> inside, arranged on <strong>two floors<\/strong>, and on a part of the outer porch.
