In the Middle Ages, it was the most important Pisan Romanesque-style church in the area.<\/span><\/p>\n<h2><strong><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignleft\" src=\"https:\/\/www.terredipisa.it\/wp-content\/uploads\/2023\/11\/San-Giovanni-Battista-1-Buti-Marco-taliani-1024x1024.jpg\" width=\"367\" height=\"367\" \/>The Parish Church, architectural highlights<\/strong><\/h2>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Its construction is believed to date back to the 10th century. The <strong>bell tower<\/strong>, characterized by an unusual domed covering, was created from a medieval tower that retained its crenellations until the 19th century.
