{"id":8725,"date":"2019-05-25T09:10:41","date_gmt":"2019-05-25T07:10:41","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.terredipisa.it\/?post_type=attrazione&#038;p=8725"},"modified":"2026-03-17T09:13:22","modified_gmt":"2026-03-17T08:13:22","slug":"etruscan-museum","status":"publish","type":"attrazione","link":"https:\/\/www.terredipisa.it\/en\/attrazione\/etruscan-museum\/","title":{"rendered":"Bientina | Etruscan Museum and of Ancient History"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>The <strong>Museum of Ancient History and Territory<\/strong> <strong>in the deconsecrated<\/strong> <strong>church of San Girolamo<\/strong> was established in 1999 in memory of the archaeologist Vittorio Bernardi. It proposes a route that reconstructs the transformations of the territory between 1000 and the 5th century BC. Three sections display finds from the Etruscan period: kitchen ceramics, fragments decorated in Villanovan style, buccheri, objects and elements of the funerary equipment of a tomb found during the reclamation works in the marsh of Bientina.<\/p>\n<hr \/>\n<p>The so-called &#8220;<a href=\"https:\/\/www.terredipisa.it\/en\/attrazione\/bosco-tanali-nature-reserve-bientina\/\"><strong>Padule<\/strong><\/a>&#8220;, the vast plain stretching between the Monti Pisani and the Colline delle Cerbaie, is what remains of the <strong>Lake of Bientina<\/strong> after the reclamation works ordered by Leopold I, Grand Duke of Tuscany, between 1824 and 1859.
