From April 2024, the Mauro Staccioli Museum and Archive has benn opened in Volterra, at the former Oratory of the Crucifix in Via Franceschini. A visit to the museum is included in the \u2018Anima di Volterra\u2019 combined ticket<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

The 17th-century former Oratory of the Crucifix, a beautiful treasure chest within the Exhibition and Study Centre complex owned by the Foundation itself, will house the artist\u2019s maquettes and paper archive. The Foundation has taken charge of the exhibition layout, the display supports, the bespoke display cases, and the design and implementation of the lighting scheme, investing resources and staff to ensure not only the conservation but also the promotion of Staccioli\u2019s work.

Alongside the plastic models created for the study and verification of his sculptures set within urban spaces or natural contexts, there is a valuable collection of documents, notes, drawings, photographs and catalogues, constituting the paper archive, which, through the database developed by the Bibliotheca Herztiana \u2013 the Max Planck Institute for Art History based in Rome \u2013 will be made available to scholars and researchers, facilitating access to the material.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
