{"id":52461,"date":"2024-01-19T10:17:35","date_gmt":"2024-01-19T09:17:35","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.terredipisa.it\/attrazione\/lorenzana-chiesa-di-san-bartolomeo-apostolo\/"},"modified":"2024-01-19T10:17:35","modified_gmt":"2024-01-19T09:17:35","slug":"lorenzana-chiesa-di-san-bartolomeo-apostolo","status":"publish","type":"attrazione","link":"https:\/\/www.terredipisa.it\/en\/attrazione\/lorenzana-chiesa-di-san-bartolomeo-apostolo\/","title":{"rendered":"Lorenzana | Chiesa di San Bartolomeo Apostolo"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>The Church of St Bartholomew the Apostle &#8211; also known as the Church of Saints Bartholomew and Christophan &#8211; can be recognised well when observing the profile of the Lorenzana hills from afar.<\/p>\n<p>Church of St Bartholomew<br \/>\nDestroyed by an earthquake on 14 August 1846, it was rebuilt in its present form, in neoclassical style, starting in 1853.<\/p>\n<p>The church, located in the historic centre of the village, is actually very old: it is mentioned in some documents from the 13th century and its history refers to several reconstructions.<\/p>\n<p>Description<br \/>\nThe fa\u00e7ade has a &#8216;gabled&#8217; profile, while the interior has a single nave with the side walls painted &#8216;in imitation marble&#8217;. As you walk through, you will notice the four confessionals and the twin altars, which look at each other as if in a mirror.
