Initially dedicated to Saints Roch and John the Baptist invoked for protection against the plague, it was named after the Madonna del Carmine at the end of the 17th century when it became the seat of the Carmelite friars. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The building is preceded by a square-shaped portico with elegant Ionic columns supporting the front tympanum. The interior with a Greek-cross plan has a Baroque stucco high altar and a tabernacle housing a Madonna and Child.
