{"id":23521,"date":"2021-06-03T12:18:00","date_gmt":"2021-06-03T10:18:00","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.terredipisa.it\/?post_type=attrazione&#038;p=23521"},"modified":"2024-01-08T10:55:04","modified_gmt":"2024-01-08T09:55:04","slug":"monastery-of-san-francesco-san-miniato","status":"publish","type":"attrazione","link":"https:\/\/www.terredipisa.it\/en\/attrazione\/monastery-of-san-francesco-san-miniato\/","title":{"rendered":"Monastery of San Francesco | San Miniato"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Founded in 1211 on the site of an oratory dedicated to <a href=\"https:\/\/www.terredipisa.it\/en\/territory\/san-miniato\/\"><strong>San Miniato<\/strong><\/a>, it is a grandiose complex, the result of numerous extensions over the centuries.\u00a0Signs of the original church are still visible on the fa\u00e7ade.<\/p>\n<p>Inside, there are two elegant cloisters: the <strong>&#8220;fathers&#8217; cloister&#8221;<\/strong> (16th century) and the<strong> &#8220;novices&#8217; cloister&#8221;<\/strong> (18th century). (18th century), while in the refectory there is a large painting by Carlo Bambocci depicting the Supper of St Francis and St Clare.
