It lies in the green Tuscan hills, 40 km south of Pisa.<\/p>\n<p><strong>A stay to meditate<br \/>\n<\/strong><br \/>\nThe Institute is based in a large, <strong>completely renovated building<\/strong>, equipped with meditation rooms, dining rooms, a library and guest rooms, around which are the villa of the resident lamas and some wooden cottages for guests, particularly those on meditation retreats.<\/p>\n<p>The association offers courses in philosophy, psychology and meditation, taught by qualified Masters and scholars who transmit the oral teachings of Buddha Shakyamuni, as well as organising qualified seminars.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<hr \/>\n<p><iframe loading=\"lazy\" title=\"Istituto Lama Tzong Khapa - Pomaia\" width=\"696\" height=\"392\" data-cookieconsent=\"statistics, marketing\" data-src=\"https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/embed\/JOfh4qUi0Fk?feature=oembed\" frameborder=\"0\" allow=\"accelerometer; autoplay; clipboard-write; encrypted-media; gyroscope; picture-in-picture; web-share\" referrerpolicy=\"strict-origin-when-cross-origin\" allowfullscreen><\/iframe><div class=\"cookieconsent-optout-statistics cookieconsent-optout-marketing\">Please accept <a href=\"javascript:Cookiebot.renew()\">statistics, marketing<\/a> cookies to watch this video.<\/div><\/p>\n<p><strong>The Buddha Statue<br \/>\n<\/strong><br \/>\nOn the occasion of the <strong>Dalai Lama<\/strong>&#8216;s visit in June 2014, <strong>Europe&#8217;s tallest Buddha statue<\/strong>, which has a very special history, was inaugurated. It was made by set designer Dante Ferretti for <strong>Martin Scorsese&#8217;s<\/strong> <strong>film<\/strong> &#8216;<strong>Kundun<\/strong>&#8216;, and was in danger of being destroyed after filming.
