The Fontemorsi winery is located in Montescudaio, on the hills that lead from the Tyrrhenian coast to Volterra, in an area that, thanks to its favourable pedoclimatic conditions, has offered optimal conditions for vine cultivation for centuries. The soils of marine origin, rich in minerals and fossils, and the constant ventilation that comes from the coast allow in fact the production of quality grapes, only with the use of traditional techniques and means of defence. Consequently, for many years Fontemorsi has adhered to the regulations for organic cultivation under the supervision of the Experimental Station for Sustainable Viticulture. The grape variety of choice is Sangiovese, vinified in purity in the Volterrano and Rosato wines or in blends with Merlot in the Spazzavento and Cabernet Sauvignon in the Guadipiani. The white Tresassi is produced with Viognier and Chardonnay grapes. Fontemorsi also produces an excellent extra virgin olive oil, certified organic. In the heart of the farm, surrounded by vineyards and located on a hillock from which you can enjoy the magnificent panorama of the Cecina Valley as far as Volterra, is our farmhouse used for tourist accommodation. The recently renovated historic building offers 3 flats of various sizes furnished with period furniture and a swimming pool in a panoramic position.
