The Museum is open again to the public every day from 9.00 am to 8.00 pm. The Aquarium is under renovation and will be open on Saturday 12th June.
The Natural History Museum is divided into two exhibition areas. One includes the new Aquarium and the Temporary exhibitions. The second includes the Permanent exhibitions: Historical Gallery, Museum Garden, Amphibians and reptiles, Mammals, Archaeocetes, Human evolution, Minerals, “The Earth: myths and science”, Geological eras, Dinosaurs.
Born at the end of the 16th century as a “Gallery” of the present Botanical Garden in Pisa, the Museum has enriched its collections during the centuries, basting today an important heritage of historical and scientific value. Since the end of the Seventies the Museum was hosted in the nearby Carthusian Monastery of Calci. The Museum is part of the University of Pisa Museum System.
From 26th June 2021, the Museum has updated its admission rates with the possibility of personalizing your visit and choosing between:
– a ticket dedicated to the Museum’s permanent exhibitions
– a ticket dedicated to the Aquarium and the temporary exhibition “Inferno. bestiario dantesco” (Dante’s bestiary)
– a cumulative ticket that allows you to visit the permanent exhibitions, the Aquarium and the temporary exhibition “Inferno. bestiario dantesco”.

CURRENT EXHIBITIONS
From 25 June 2021 to 31 January 2022, to celebrate the 700th anniversary of Dante Alighieri’s death, temporary exhibition “Inferno. Bestiario dantesco“, where visitors will be able to retrace some of the stages of Dante and Virgil’s afterlife journey through the circles of Hell.
From 2 July to 5 September 2021 the exhibition “Stellemiti” by Romano Masoni, in the evocative Galleria dei Cetacei, brings together installations, paintings and engravings by the Tuscan artist.
From 26 April to 23 July 2021, the photography exhibition “Falcons” curated by Andrea Daina Palermo and Francesco Paci.
