Theatre season for children at the “Città del Teatro” | Cascina

Alongside the evening events for adults, Cascina’s Theatre City includes the usual shows and workshops dedicated to children, with 22 shows featuring the most important Italian theatre companies and taking place on Sundays at 5pm from 1 October to 24 March.

During the season Fondazione Sipario Toscana will also present its new production Geppetto by and with Debora Mattiello (10/12) and the co-production with Factory Compagnia Transadriatica: Piccolo Sushi (26/11). A great novelty will also be the carnival at the theatre on the occasion of Shrove Tuesday.

And after the theatre, a walk through the historic centre of Cascina, which, despite the successive and sometimes wretched reconstructions of the historic centre, still retains a medieval air, thanks to the remains of the city walls and a Civic Tower, but above all to the beautiful parish church of Santa Maria – in Romanesque-Pisan style – and the characteristic Oratory of San Giovanni, which belonged first to the Knights of Jerusalem and then to those of Malta.
