September in Perignano | Fair and Palio of Santa Lucia

From September 4 to 6, Perignano celebrates its traditional fair in Piazza Vittorio Veneto with street food, music, crafts market, a funfair, and shops open for business.

On September 12 and 13, it’s time for the Palio delle Contrade parades, while on September 19, the Palio, now in its 40th edition, will see six districts competing for the coveted “Cencio”: Casaccia, Castello, Quattro Strade, Fagiolaia, Spinelli, Pari, Tomaiola, and Tre Vie.

Saturday 12 September – 9.00 pm | Parades of the Contrade
The grand opening night! The Contrade of Casaccia, Castello, Quattro Strade, Fagiolaia, Spinelli, Pari, Tomaiola and Tre Vie will parade with striking sets, costumes crafted with meticulous attention to detail, music and performances designed to thrill the audience and win over the judges.

Sunday 13 September – 3.00 pm | Palio dei Ragazzi
The young people from the contrade compete for the title with traditional games, in the spirit of fun and true team spirit.

Saturday 19 September – 9.00 pm | Palio della Bilancia
The highlight of the event! The contrade compete in the weighing competition to win the 40th-anniversary banner.
