Third edition of the two-day cycling event in Ponte a Egola during Easter for male and female categories
Ten races are scheduled between Saturday and Sunday: on Saturday morning the men’s juniors will take to the road, then the Handbike category (men and women); this will be followed by the Elite Under 23 men and the very young (men and women), with as many as 12 categories involved in skill trials.
Ponte a Egola is one of the world’s most important centres for leather production and processing. The birth of the first tanneries dates back to the mid 19th century, thanks to the abundance of water in the area. Since then, the tanning business has developed steadily until the boom of the 1950s. It is located near San Miniato, in the Valdarno Inferiore, along the state road 67 Tosco Romagnola. The hamlet is crossed by the river Egola, from which it takes its name, near its confluence with the Arno.
