Nativity Scene | Calcinaia

From 7 December to 11 January 2026, the multi-scene artistic nativity scene returns to the Church of St. Michael (known as the Church of the Compagnia) in Calcinaia, Via XX Settembre.

The nativity scene, with its striking visual effect, is characterised by automation and technology, thanks to a mix of special effects and audio contributions from the most famous films in the history of Christ.

This year, the nativity scene takes on an even more special meaning. In memory of the 800th anniversary of the death of St. Francis of Assisi, inventor of the nativity scene and messenger of peace, each scene becomes an invitation to rediscover his vision of the Holy Family.
