Musei Villa Baciocchi, Via del Castello, Capannoli
The museums at Villa Baciocchi are housed within the 18th-century villa, built on the ruins of Capannoli Castle, which once belonged to the Della Gherardesca family (11th century). They include the Archaeological Museum (temporarily closed), the Zoological Museum and the Botanical Garden in the villa’s grounds. In addition to the Zoological Museum, the villa and the garden (which will reopen shortly), visitors can also explore the villa’s cellars, which are included in the admission ticket for the Zoological Museum.
In addition, visitors can explore the permanent exhibition ‘Equilibri in Natura’, installed at two iconic sites in Capannoli and Santo Pietro Belvedere as part of the artistic heritage regeneration project. Information on opening times can be found on the page
The museums and the park at Villa Baciocchi will remain closed until 13 September, when they will reopen to mark the Bird Fair. In the meantime, the park will undergo some planned tree felling, which is necessary for the upkeep and safety of the area. Work is also continuing on the refurbishment of the attics.
