Piazza Dante, San MIniato
Every morning on the third Sunday of the month, from March to December, from 8.30 am to 1.00 pm, the ‘zero-kilometre’ Mercato della Terra farmers’ market takes place beneath the Loggiati di San Domenico.
On Sunday 19 July, from 8.30 am to 1.00 pm, this event is dedicated to local, fresh and seasonal produce, where small-scale producers sell directly what they grow and process, guaranteeing quality, sustainability and the promotion of the local area. It is an opportunity to shop mindfully and discover the finest produce our land has to offer.
The Cloister of San Domenico is situated in the heart of San Miniato’s historic centre. It consists of three tiers of loggias arranged on a square plan. It is one of the town’s best-known landmarks. As well as housing the Municipal Library and the Museum of Memory, it provides access to the Vicoli Carbonai. During festivals and fairs, it hosts numerous stalls selling everything from local specialities such as truffles to collectables and vintage items.
