International Festival at the Roman Theatre | Volterra

The 24th international festival takes place from 16 July to 8 August against the backdrop of the Roman Theatre in Volterra, with a programme ranging from drama to dance, and from music to opera, featuring national and international companies. Performances begin at 9.30 pm.

This is an international-level event that promotes Volterra and its Roman Theatre, the finest archaeological remains from the Roman era in Tuscany. In the past, the Festival has welcomed great and important artists such as Giorgio Albertazzi, Dario Fo, Arnoldo Foa, Massimo Ranieri, Paola and Alessandro Gassman. A prestigious jury awards the ‘Ombra della Sera’ prizes to leading figures from the worlds of entertainment and culture.
