Palio of San Rocco Pilgrim | San Miniato

In 2026, the Festival del Pensiero Popolare will not take place.

On 14, 15 and 16 August, only the Palio di San Rocco will be held, among the three terzieri of San Miniato taking part in the traditional games which, as in the previous edition, will set the pace of life in the neighbourhood.

The Palio di San Rocco, named after the patron saint of the pilgrims who once travelled along the Via Francigena, takes place in Piazza Bonaparte, in the neighbourhood known as ‘Scioa’ in the historic centre, and features games in the square for young and old alike, including the watermelon-splitting contest using one’s bottom.
