A tribute to Minerva
The Temple of Minerva is a building in a grove of holm oaks just outside the village of Montefoscoli. It was built between 1821 and 1823 by Andrea Vaccà Berlinghieri, a physician and luminary at the University of Pisa, who wanted to dedicate a monument to his father Francesco, also a physician, celebrating his profession with a dedication to the goddess of medicine Minerva.
