Cream Puff Festival in Orentano

The cream puff festival takes place in Orentano from August 10 to 16, while the Dolcione parade is held only on August 16. The Cream Puff Festival is held for the patron feast of San Lorenzo (Saint Lawrence) and it is the result of an authentic passion on the part of the pastry chefs of Orentano.

In 1987, Orentano became the home of the “Dolcione“: indeed, local pastry chefs created famous monuments reproduced based on sweet ingredients that attract gluttons from every part. Last time in 2019 the Festival was dedicated to the genius of Leonardo da Vinci.

Orentano, moreover, boasts a remarkable confectionery tradition: in the post-war period many confectioners from Orentano (where there were about twenty pastry shops in the main street alone) decided to seek their fortune in Rome, where they opened premises which later became mainstays in the sector. In other parts of Italy, restaurants and pizzerias were opened.
