World Water Day: guided tours of the aqueducts of Bientina and Buti

World Water Day is celebrated on 22 March; it was established by the United Nations in 1992 in Rio de Janeiro.

Saturday 21 March: ‘Precious Waters: from the springs to the sea, passing through Buti and Bientina’ – a special tour taking us from the Badia Spring to the Bientina Wastewater Treatment Plant.

New for this edition is a display within the Bientina treatment plant designed to raise awareness of the microorganisms that are actually responsible for the purification process. Our exceptional guide will be Prof. Graziano Di Giuseppe, Professor of Biology at the University of Pisa.
