3rd Carnevale a quattro zampe – Four legged friends’ carnival | Santa Maria a Monte

The third edition of the Carnevale a quattro zampe is organized by the territorial associations and the shops of Santa Maria a Monte, in collaboration with the municipality of Santa Maria a Monte. In the morning, from 11 o’clock, Piazza della Vittoria will host dog trainers with their stands and demonstrations, Dog Agility competitions, and artisanal and animal product stalls. In the afternoon, dogs in carnival costumes will parade with their young owners in the historic town centre, and a jury will award prizes to the best dog costume and the most endearing child-dog couple. A “themed” fashion show will follow, with models from the Accademia Italiana Fashion Stile and their faithful four legged friends dressed with masks dedicated to the superheroes.
From 15.00 to 18.00 entrance free to Casa Carducci Museum, La Rocca Archaeological area and the Civico Beata Diana Giuntini Museum. Guided tours from the library will take visitors to the discovery the Underground town and its medieval tunnels, cisterns, ravines.
Part of the proceeds of this event will be donated to the dog kennels of the territory. If weather conditions are bad, the event will be postponed to the following weekend.
