Photography exhibition “Una Montagna di Vita – Ecosistemi d’alta quota e cambiamenti climatici”

On December 14th at 3 pm the temporary nature photography exhibition “A Mountain of Life – High Altitude Ecosystems and Climate Change” will be inaugurated. This photographic collection is part of the scientific project “NextData”, dedicated to study the Italian mountain environment, approved by the Italian Ministry for Education, University and Research and coordinated by the National Research Council. The purpose of the pictures is to illustrate the Italian mountain ecosystems and the complex processes that determine their dynamics. The images describe the main typologies of Italian mountain ecosystems and the differences between different regions and altitude, the main characteristics of the ecosystems and the adaptations of plants and animals to the difficult mountain conditions. Moreover the pictures illustrate the relationships between the various components of the ecosystems and the complex interaction between human activities and the mountain environment.
